Landlord's comments: "A loft-style, light-filled, one-bedroom apartment in the Haut-Marais district. It's on the top floor (with elevator), has views over the rooftops of Paris, and can accommodate two to four guests.
Description This loft-style, one-bedroom apartment is located in a 19th century building, a former Catholic school, on the rue Montgolfier, in the Haut-Marais quarter. On the 5th and top floor (with elevator), it has tall ceilings with original beams, wooden floors, and seven windows facing East and West and overlooking the Parisian rooftops. Completely remodeled by the owner several years ago, it combines authentic charm with modern amenities, and is extremely quiet, light-filled, and cheerful. The apartment is 55 sq meters (600 sq feet) in size, with a large living room (with a double sofa-bed), open kitchen, a bathroom with bath and shower, and a bedroom with a Queen-size bed. The sofa in the living room can be opened up to a double bed, allowing the apartment to accommodate up to 4 persons. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can easily prepare everything from a French breakfast to a gourmet dinner. As for the furnishings, they include several decorative paintings, and some reproduction 18th -century French items such as a big Mirror, lamps, etc.
Neighborhood The Montgolfier apartment is 700 meters away from the geographical center of Paris symbolized by the 'Hotel de Ville' (town hall). It is only a two minute walk to the nearest Metro station ('Arts & Metiers'), and there are four other Metro stations five or six minutes away. Within a 15-minute walk of the apartment, you’ll find renowned historical and cultural sites such as the Place des Vosges, Musée Picasso, the Modern Art Pompidou Center, the Hôtel de Ville, Place de la Bastille, the Seine River, Ile de la Cité, Ile Saint-Louis, and Notre-Dame Cathedral. The Musée du Louvre is a 20-minute walk away. In the Marais district, you can find lots of lively shopping streets. The Rue de Bretagne, only five minutes from the apartment, is full of bakeries, fresh food markets, cheese shops, and 'traiteurs' for a complete Parisian experience. Visit some of the local restaurants and cafés. The choice is limitless and the owner will provide you with a guide to his favorites. The famous 'L’Ami Louis' restaurant is just around the corner from the apartment. For your comfort, smoking and pets are not allowed in the apartment. " |
